  1. What is a Physiatrist?

    Talking Couple Answer: A Physiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This is a medical specialty concerned with diagnosis, evaluation and management of persons of all ages with physical and/or cognitive impairment and disability. Physiatrists are trained in rehabilitation of neurologic disorders, and in the diagnosis and management of impairments of the musculoskeletal (including sports and occupational aspects) and other organ systems, and the long-term management of patients with disabling conditions.

  2. Are all the doctors at Rehabilitation Associates of Nevada in the same specialty?

    Answer: Yes. Dr. Joseph Gnoyski, Dr. Curtis Huynh and Dr. Charlie Huynh are all Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

  3. What kinds of illnesses and injuries do your doctors usually treat?

    Answer: Post-orthopedic surgeries, strokes, closed head injuries, back and neck injuries, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Post-Polio Syndrome, quadraplegia and paraplegia, among other impairments.

  4. What does being "Board Certified" mean?

    Answer: Only Physiatrists who possess the attitudes, specialized skills, knowledge and experience needed to diagnose and treat specific problems and to medically manage the long-term care of their patients’ disabilities are certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The successful completion of an exacting multi-step process leads to certification, including educational requirements, practice requirements, examination requirements and maintenance of certification.

    All 4 of our physicians are Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.


  5. Do all doctors see Fibromyalgia patients and Post-Polio Syndrome patients?

    Answer: Yes, all four physicians see Fibromyalgia patients and Post-Polio Syndrome patients.



  6. Do you have physical therapy in your office?

    Answer: No, we do not. If the doctor advises that physical therapy services are needed, you will be referred to a physical therapy facility.

  7. Is Rehabilitation Associates of Nevada a rehab. program for drug and alcohol addiction?

    Answer: No, we are not. Rehabilitation Associates of Nevada works exclusively with patients with injuries and conditions as described above in Question #1.

  8. Where is Rehabilitation Associates of Nevada located?


    Answer: Rehabilitation Associates of Nevada is located in the Medical Office Building attached to Summerlin Hospital Medical Center (653 Town Center Drive, Suite 418). The office is on the corner of Banburry Cross and Town Center Drive, just south of Summerlin Parkway.

  9. Is Rehabilitation Associates of Nevada affiliated with Summerlin Hospital?

    Answer: Yes, our doctors have served Summerlin Hospital as Medical Directors of the Rehabilitation Unit, on the 6th floor of Summerlin Hospital, for several years.

  10. What are your hours?

    Answer: Rehabilitation Associates of Nevada is open Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The office is closed the first and third Fridays of the month, and on holidays. We do not see patients on the weekends, or in the evening.
